Slowly but surely another plot thread has been coming to its close, and at the end of it, the poor sap who fell for Faust’s Helmet of Fate scam to get a pure and strong soul to sell Neron has turned out to be the one pulling their strings for a long time now. These two aren’t exactly partners, but I don’t think I have to explain why they fit as two sides of the same coin… or card, as the case may be. They both represent the power of gods and magic, and both of them, despite their lofty goals, have proven all too small-minded in the end- focused on getting a good deal and never checking all the angles.
And now they’re going to be spending a lot more time together. It just goes to show, you shouldn’t try to pull a con on a Croatoan.
Join me on Friday when I show you a long con that’s been a little more successful.
